Kristen O'Connor
Aspiring Arts and Entertainment reporter/journalist
I am looking for a job at the New York times as an Assistant Arts editor.
Using my mind: I am very confident in my ability to find great stories to report. I think outside the box, and notice events or issues going on that should most certainly be addressed.
Computer: I am trained in using most Microsoft Office software, like Word, Powerpoint, Exel, and Pusblisher. I also know how to record and edit podcasts using Audacity.
Communication: I am wonderful when it comes to getting in contact with others for interviews. I have a great, welcoming personality that no one can say no to. I currently work at Market Basket for some extra cash, and I always warmly welcome customers and I have been commented on how nice I am. I am not shy, so I will ask anyone anything to get whatever I need for a story.
Journalism: I have written various news articles in a journalism course I am currently taking, so I know what I'm doing. I also know AP Style very well so all of my writing pieces are written correctly. Our class is always editing, so I'm familiar with those skills.
Podcasting: I have experience with recording podcasts for journalism class. I interview people and record them using my phone, and I am able to make a podcast out of these interviews by editing them using Audacity.
I am currently a 10th-grade student at Nashua High School South. I am a writer for Rob Greene's journalism class and I write news stories and make pod-casts on the latest events that are going on in Nashua, N.H. I plan on taking more writing courses throughout my high school career to better my skills.
